SJIS participates at the Natsumatsuri 2012
An annual event hosted by International Alumni Council Japan (IACJ) took place at St. Maur’s on June 16, 2012. The IACJ is a group spearheaded by Paul Guilfoile (St. Mary’s ’73), and its goal to unite the International Schools in Japan. SJIS Alumni President, Charlie Chen (’80) is currently a board member of IACJ, as well as the member of the organizing committee of the Natsumatsuri. Wally Hayashi (’83) also helped out organizing the Natsumatsuri 2012. More than 500 people showed up at the event, despite the rain.
The SJIS Alumni Association operated a booth at the Natsumatsuri 2012, with selling authentic Chinese food from Kaseiro (Hideaki Enatsu ’81) and Tung Fat (Keikin Shu ’83). The decision to participate was made by the officers to play a significant role in the International School community.
SJIS Alumni volunteers helped out with the shifts at the booth.
