St. Joseph Festa 2012 Ends in a Big Success

festa12_sjis0051The annual St. Joseph Festa 2012 was held at Berrick Hall on November 24th and 25th.  This year’s theme, “Hand in Hand”, featured music from ’60s to ’70s Pop music played by the Bay Side Swingers.

The Bay Side Swingers played two sets during the day, and on the evening November 24th, they played at the night event, which was a replication of a high school dance in the ’70s.  St. Joseph Alumni, along with our friends from St. Maur’s, Sancta Maria, and ASIJ, as well as people from the public attended the evening event.

festa12_sjis0046A new feature was also introduced at the event during day.  Stores from Motomachi, mainly owned by SJIS grads and friends, set up booths to sell their goods at the garden of Berrick Hall.

The St. Joseph Festa is an event hosted by Berrick Hall, with the SJIS Alumni Association cooperating with them.  The SJIS Alumni Association has been cooperating with this event, in order to show our appreciation for Berrick Hall, and the City of Yokohama, for letting us use a room in the building as our “Archive Room”.  The Archive Room exhibits memorabilia from St. Joseph along with IBS Troop One memorabilia (open all year).

Proceeds from the Evening event went to Berrick Hall, with a part of it donated to the SJIS Alumni Association.  Proceeds from the booths went to the SJIS Alumni Association, with a part of it donated to Berrick Hall.
