Memorial Mass 2014 held in solemn success

Photo Sep 23, 10:40:59The Memorial Mass 2014 solemnly took place at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Yokohama on September 23rd, 2014. In its 10th year, the event started in 2004 by the then Alumni Association spearheaded by Cho Boon Oyama(’66).

The Mass was officiated by Fr. Roed Desamparado. The Mass is dedicated in gratitude to our beloved Marianist priests, brothers, and lay teachers, as well as all former students, graduates, families, and friends who have passed away. This year we remembered the following students, teachers, and friends who have passed away these past years:

After the Mass, the attendees took a stroll to the Foreign Cemetery, where Harry Quini (’58) took the lead in giving prayers to our Statue of Mary, that used to be standing at St. Joseph.  The current President of the Foreign Cemetery, John Dentici (’80) gave a thank you speech to the attendees.  Then, the attendees took another stroll to Chinatown, where a luncheon was held at Junkaikaku, owned by Han-Wen Wu (’63).
